Our innovation and production hub, aptly located in the flora-abundant Boland region of South
Africa, is a creative space where the rich tapestry of local plant life inspires our work. Here we
delve into the deep history and extensive knowledge of botanical dyeing, blending this expertise
with our own artistic vision to produce rare, distinctive, and naturally dyed yarns that honour
nature’s processes.

Mireille’s transition from the formal
employment sector to founding
Forest Fibre was driven by her
passion for blending her artistic
talents with her dedication to nature
and her deep interest in botanical
dyeing. In this labour of love, she
now fully explores and expresses
her creativity while celebrating the
beauty of fibres and the art of natural
dyeing. As such Forest Fibre not
only allows her to create beautiful
yarns, but also to give back to the
environment and connect with fellow
nature-loving creatives.
In her online shop you’ll find a captivating selection of beautiful yarns that inspire and delight, and
opportunities to engage in events where clientele can have fun, collaborate and share in the joy
of creativity together.
Forest Fibre especially embodies all the values that Mireille deeply cares about – a business
rooted in nature that fosters creativity, and connection with a vibrant community sharing these
ideals.
